Swim 1.5k, Bike 41.6km, Run 10km
The Elite races are an exciting highlight of the Kelowna Apple Triathlon. Throughout the year, Elite triathletes race various events for prize money and to determine their standings in the National Team.
Four years in a row (2008 to 2011), members of the Canadian National Team raced in Kelowna in a quest for the National Title. In 2012, our focus will be on the age groupers and hosting the Provincial Championships.
The Adult Elite course in downtown Kelowna is spectator-friendly by using smaller loops to cover the 40km distance on the bike (6 loops) and the 10km run (4 loops). Drafting is legal for the Elite racers, and spectators are guaranteed to see a fierce battle for the podium.

Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Run 5km
The Junior Elite races are just as exciting as the adult Elite racers. Here you can see the "next generation" of triathletes competing for valuable points and rankings to follow in the footsteps of the adult Elite racers.
The Junior Elite race serves as the National and Provincial Championships for our young Elites (as well as race #4 in their race series).
The Junior Elite course in downtown Kelowna is the same spectator-friendly course that all spectators are guaranteed to enjoy. The action and battles are fun to watch! Junior Elites cover 4 laps on the bike course (4 laps) and a 5km run course.

Swim 1.5k, Bike 40km, Run 10km
This race is our most popular one. It sends the cyclists up the legendary Knox Mountain, then over rolling terrain towards Glenmore back into town. Lined with spectators and marshalls, the bike course will for sure put a smile on every racer's face! The run follows the shoreline of Lake Okanagan and is flat. This race represents the Provincial Championships for Olympic distance for 2012 as well as race #7 in the Tri BC Race Series.
RELAY: The Olympic distance race can be done in a relay with a total of 3 people racing (one swimmer, one cyclist, one runner). The distances remain the same. There are different categories to compete in (Open Male, Open Female, Open Mixed and Family).

Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Run 5km
A shorter version of the Olympic race (fewer laps), this race is a great event for new triathletes as well as seasoned triathletes preferring the shorter distances.

Swim 300m, Bike 15km, Run 3km
Many people have commented that they would like to try a triathlon. However, even though they can handle the bike and run portion, they didn’t feel comfortable with the swim component.
We have a solution. It’s called our Try-a-Tri, which has a short swim of 300m (12 lengths of a 25m. pool) in warm and calm Lake Okanagan.
Many of the participants do the distance using breast stroke, which is perfectly fine. This event focuses on allowing people to try a triathlon, complete the event, and have fun doing so.
The bike course is flat (15 km) and the run is 3 km long.

Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Run 5km
Join the Northern Computer Business Challenge Sprint Relay presented by Total Office- enjoy the warm waters of Lake Okanagan and race through the streets of Kelowna on a morning of fun, fitness, and friendly competition.
Get together a three-person team: one swimmer, one cyclist and a runner, and challenge other business teams! Co-workers, friends, family or associates can participate under a business name. Teams are not limited to corporations alone, but can include associations, organisations, clubs and societies.
Ideally, the 3-person teams will have both male and female members. The Business Challenge Sprint Relay will start with a 750m swim at Tugboat beach, followed by a 20km bike ride through downtown Kelowna and completes with a 5km run through the downtown area and along the lake. Use this opportunity to build team spirit or to show your competitors what you’re made of!
Note: Each participant must have or obtain a membership in TriBC or ATA for insurance coverage purposes. This can be obtained at race pack pick up for the nominal fee of $6.00 per participant. Also, an online processing fee of $9.75 will be added to your credit card at the time of team registration.
