Kelowna Becomes Regional Triathlon Training Center
For Immediate Release -
02/02/06
Kelowna, BC - The Board
of Directors of the Kelowna Apple Triathlon Society are pleased to
announce Triathlon B.C. has appointed Kelowna as a Regional Training
Center effective immediately. It is the only training center in B.C.
other than the National Training Center in Victoria. The decision
was in part due to Kelowna's commitment to build a 50m swimming pool
which allows for year around training. A triathlon training center
in Kelowna will attract coaches and athletes alike and provide an
international level of coaching for our locals.
Society President
Richard Montgomery states, "The Pushor Mitchell Kelowna Apple
Triathlon makes a significant economic impact to our community every
year and having a triathlon training center will further enhance
this Olympic sport in Kelowna and the Okanagan."
